What are we doing?
With the temperatures rising into the 90s this week, we’ve been keeping busy indoors! One of Chef Bug’s favorite things to do is TINKER!!! Recently we suited her up with some goggles + a few tools and let her take apart our old DVD player. Check this out for more tinkering suggestions for your kiddos + some of our favorite STEM toys:
What about conservation?
Who said s’mores are only for campfires?!?! Did you know can make them in a DIY solar oven? It’s a great way to learn about solar energy + enjoy a tasty treat!
What are we listening to?
If your family is taking a road trip this summer you may be interested in listening to a great book! We listened to Matilda on our drive to Atlanta last summer, and even my husband enjoyed it! Check out these family friendly books narrated by a few of my favorite GIRL POWER worthy celebrities:
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz narrated by Anne Hathaway
Charlotte’s Web narrated by Meryl Streep
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland narrated by Scarlett Johansson
Where are we traveling?
Even though we’ve lived in this area for nearly two decades, we are still discovering new adventures close to home! While we are exploring the nearby creeks, waterfalls, rivers, forests + fields we often refer to our iNaturalist app. The app allows you to make plant and animal observations even if you are without internet access, so you can literally be a citizen scientist ANYWHERE! 🙂
What are we eating?
With summer’s fresh bounty at my fingertips I couldn’t resist an opportunity to whip up some recipes celebrating the best this season has to offer! Be on the lookout for some yummy treats featuring cherries, peaches + strawberries! First up, a twist on an original Pearls + Girls recipe, Strawberry Cheesecake Bites.
Have a fabulous weekend, foodie friends!
