I can’t begin to explain the excitement I have for this school year, friends! After eight years as a public school teacher + four years as a stay at home mama, I am taking the plunge and homeschooling my two precious girls for preschool and first grade.
If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be homeschooling two kids in 2015 I would have laughed in your face.
A ‘full blown, snorting through my nose, cross my legs so I don’t pee my pants’ kind of laugh, I assure you!
After three years of fairly disappointing experiences with a private preschool and a public charter elementary school, my EXTREMELY supportive husband and I decided to take our two fun loving, smart, energetic, creative kids on a bona fide learning adventure.
Exhilarating and terrifying at the same time……as most worthwhile things are! 😀
We are planning a year filled to the brim with reading, writing, drawing, traveling, dancing, singing, counting, building, designing, cooking, exploring and experimenting! Did I mention fun?!?! Oh yeah, buckets of fun, too!
I have always taken an ‘everything in moderation’ approach in all aspects of my life, and educating my children is no different. We are just getting started, but I’m looking forward to sharing more about our homeschooling journey as we embark on a very exciting school year! 😀
