White Hot Chocolate

Thinking out loud……I’ll tell you my love story if you tell me yours.

Isn’t it funny how people come into your life?  My husband and I met at junior prom (his school, not mine).  We both attended with other dates, yet I barely remember meeting him and he remembers the color of my dress!  I blame it on the hair.  Rocker dudes with long locks weren’t my jam in 1996 lol.

Have you ever made your own marshmallows?  Here’s my favorite recipe!  Homemade Marshmallows

Fast forward almost 20 years later, and we are about to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.  I’d love to tell you some romantic story about our first date or his proposal, but I can’t.

Our first date was dinner at Olive Garden followed by a make out session on my thrift store couch in my crappy college apartment watching a movie I can’t remember the name of (do people still say ‘make out’ in 2015?  Apparently lol.).

The proposal wasn’t anything remarkable either.  He was waiting for me on one knee when I came out of the bathroom of our townhouse after I refused to go on a hike.  He had picked out a great spot at our favorite park, but given the heat index of 90 degrees I was perfectly happy to relax at home in the air conditioning.  If only I had known.  Hey, I still married the guy, that’s what counts in the end. 😉

This year we are celebrating Valentine’s Day with our girls.

They are the loves of our lives…..can’t imagine why we’re so smitten with them though.

I wouldn’t trade these lovelies for anything in the world.  Happy Valentine’s Day!  XOXO ~ Katie

I recently declared this to be the hubby and my new song.  We never did take those dance lessons before our wedding, but I imagine if we HAD our first dance would have looked something like this. 😉  For real though, it’s a goosebumps kind of song.  The good kind.

Miranda, even though I’m a dark chocolate gal at heart, this white hot chocolate really hit all the right notes! Just enough sweetness from the chocolate, so I didn’t add any additional sugar. I must warn you, once you make homemade marshmallows you may never be satisfied with store bought again…
